Brendan McGovern is a 23-year-old gay man who graduated from Trent University with a Bachelor of Science in biology and geography in April 2007. Brendan was born and raised in Ottawa, but he first became interested in the leather community while living in Peterborough for university. He explored this fetish with a friend who was also interested in leather, and they took several trips to Toronto together since it was so close. While in Toronto Brendan and his friend were excited to find fun fetish apparel at Priape, and go to the Black Eagle, as well as Northbound Leather’s “Decadence” in 2006.
His fetish interests are mainly to do with leather, medical, workout/gym, and cowboy fantasies, but he is always open to new ideas. Some of Brendan’s hobbies are video games, working out, and hiking. Brendan is very passionate about horror movies, musical theatre, and visual arts. He is currently working in Ottawa, but hopes to go back to school either to do a Masters in tropical ecology, or become a nurse.
He would like to find innovative ways of getting newer or less experienced people who are interested in fetishes to get more involved and have more visibility in the community; he is always open to suggestions for ways of making this possible. Brendan is thrilled to be 2009’s title-holder of Mr. Leather Ottawa, and looks forward to a fun and successful year.
